Easy to set-up, reliable connection
Aqara makes some of the best smart home technology you can buy, and these are so far the best door/window sensors I've purchased. I really like that it is built with Matter; it works with Apple's HomeKit right out of the box and also paired easily with Home Assistant. No hub needed. If you're very familiar with either of those smart home systems, you know how frustrating it can be if you ever experience an internet outage... waiting for all of your devices to come back online, sometimes needing to be repaired. I have never experienced this issue with these Aqara sensors. They come back online ASAP and I have never had to re-pair them.

Difficult, Nothing New!
Big House “3 Aqara Hub M3, 3 HomePod Mini, 4 Apple TV last Gen, 3 Last Gen of Alexa” and great, fast and reliable Mish Network. This is my Smart home base. For Aqara sensors I have the old one, I bought the new Matter sensor, it’s worst difficult to pair it with all smart echo system. It’s was nightmare I couldn’t do anything, I try everything maybe you’ll think it and not pair.So what I did? I erased my whole network, then setup my WiFi from ground up, finally I pair with HomeKit and Aqara app.I found the previous sensor it’s way better fast and it’s showing for how long door open or even if it’s offline.

Five stars...after some issue resolutions
These are wonderful, but you have to do a few things if you're having issues. I tried connecting one and it was not working at all. So I tried to set up another and the same thing happened.Since both were not working I figured it was something with my network. Turns out my mesh router (Google Nest Wifi Pro) was conflicting with my router (whatever ATT gave me). The ATT router had its WiFi signals enabled for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz so when the set up was happening, it was picking up both WiFi connections from my phone. I disabled the signals from the ATT router, and they still weren't working, but I wanted to try a third just in case, and it magically connected easily.Since that started working, I wanted to troubleshoot the other two that were still having issues. I figured hat during the setup, the devices remembered the settings so I needed a way to reset them and start fresh. I saw a video from their YouTube account that you can factory reset if you press the button 10 times.Once I did that, both connected easily.I bought 13 of these and never had an issue setting up the other 11 after the network issue / factory reset took place. They are easy to set up and don't get in the way. Finally I used the extra magnets that came with each device on my fridge, lol.

Works well with matter, occasionally disconnects
When these work, they work well. I've been using them for about a year, and most of the time they work as expected. It's unclear whether it's the matter protocol or the product themselves, but occasionally, my entire matter network stops responding, and I need to re-pair every device from scratch. A couple times, it's only been these aqara sensors that stop responding.I am unsure if they have a replaceable battery, but they have remained functional through the past year at least. The difficulty when troubleshooting these brings down the score. However, they are working and responsive as I write this review, and I expect that I will continue to use them.

Almost too good!
I love the Aqara P2 Door Sensors. They've given me peace of mind that my home is safe when I'm on the go!Even non-techies will find the setup of the P2 Sensor easy to accomplish. A warning to the wise, do not remove the sticky tabs until you understand exactly where on the doors the sensor is to be placed. I thought I had them positioned correctly until I realized I would pull the sensor off if I opened the door. I had to pull both parts of the sensor off my door to reposition them, but since the adhesive side is so sticky, I had to pull hard! They grip so well, that I can see them lasting for a lifetime of use.I've added the Aqara P2 Sensors and a Kasa Switch garage light switch to the home Apple ecosystem. With the two, I was able to create an automation that instantly turned the Kasa switch on when my Aqara P2 door sensor was triggered and turned off the lights 10 minutes later. I was amazed at how fast the Aqara P2 was able to turn on the Kasa light switch! I had to slowly open the door to see if the lights were actually off, otherwise, it looked like the lights were on before I opened the door it was so fast. This and the ability to ask "Siri, turn off the garage lights" is a huge win!

Stops working because of humidity?
I was excited about this sensor as I had heard a lot of great reviews about it. There are a couple of issues I have noticed though, after having used it for a few months. Firstly, I am not sure but I think it get's affected by high humidity. The sensors stopped working within 2 months of receiving and installing. I thought it would be battery issue but it lasts for over a year for others. So I just opened it, took the battery out and put the same one in, and it started working. Again last week, after around 2 months or so, it stopped working, same issue same fix. I am noticing this could probably be happening around the time when humidity is very high (as my Denon receiver & PS4 also go bonkers during monsoons here). Has anyone else been facing this? Another minor issue that I noticed was, this won't connect in the Aqara app unless you have a separate Aqara Matter hub. As I luckily had an Apple TV, I could connect it with the HomeKit app. But, I am still restricted as I cannot use it to set direct automations and scenes in the Aqara app with the other products. As some reviews had said, probably the previous version would have been a better choice, as it's a bit smaller in size, is Zigbee control, and hence can connect in the Aqara app too. The pros - Quick and almost instant no-lag response with HomeKit. I get a notification immediately when my door opens or closes, both on my phone and on my watch.
