Yuasa Genesis NP7-12 12V/7Ah SLA Battery with F2 Terminal

Yuasa Genesis NP7-12. I installed this battery into a Belkin backup power unit that came with my AT&T modem over 10 years ago. The original battery lasted about 8 years, This replacement has been installed a little bit over 2 years and still works great. I've only had a couple of power outages, but one was about two weeks ago and it reminded be how nice it is go have backup power on my modem. I sleep near the Wi-Fi modem so I shut my system off every night so when I power it up every morning the Belkin does a self-test so I have trust in this battery.

I use this battery to replace the batteries in my CyperPower and APC UPs that protect my computer and video equipment at home. I've bought 6 to 8 over the past 10 years and been satisfied with their performance. They generally last about 3-years so I put a reminder in my calendar to buy new ones just before then.

I purhcased this to replace my security system battery. The terminal tab was slightly wider than the current battery. I filed it down and it fit perfectly. Saved a service call from my alarm company. It is the same battery as supplied by the alarm company.

So I see no sense in spending over twice as much, just to get a battery of unknown origin. Yuasa batteries have a good reputation, so I decided to save some money and go with this battery, especially after reading that it has F2 terminals. Well, I'm here to tell you that the one I received does NOT have F2 terminals. That said, the F2 connectors on the UPS wires will slide onto the F1 terminal connectors on the battery, albeit with a lot of lateral room. They were a reasonably tight fit, so it will operate fine, but I specifically ordered this battery because I *thought* it had F2 terminals. It did come with F1 to F2 adapters, which OK, I'll give them that... but I didn't want the extra electrical connector so I skipped using them. Just be aware that it appears to be completely uncertain as to whether you will actually get a battery with F2 terminals, at least if the reviews are indicative of reality.

I purchased this battery just over four years ago as a replacement for a UPS. The date code was 4-1/2 years ago (December 2017). It was removed from service in a routine maintenance replacement. It has had an easy life being mostly under maintenance charge by the UPS and maybe only once being deeply discharged. (My power failures tend to be of a few minutes duration, maximum.) Nonetheless, it still shows 12.7 volts and shows no sign of distress (bulges or heat build-up that can bee seen in failing batteries, even just under maintenance charge). I will hang onto it as a spare. Considering the experienced longevity and the reasonable price point of these batteries, I would highly recommend them.

Could not use the battery because the connectors were the wrong size and Amazon would not take the battery back

Delivery was quick. Battery was easy to install and met need beautifully. will have to wait to see about longevity. It supplied power needed for first week of use.
