This is exactly what you need for miso soup. I use Hondashi, miso paste (I use a red looking miso) and this seaweed. Perfect! It's amazing how much these little bits expand.. You use so little! So don't start out with a lot.

Came intact with no holes or tears in the packaging. It's a great addition to miso soup.

I add this to other vegetables, particularly greens, when steaming. Softens nicely. Flavor isn't too strong, and the texture melts in. Works well with other seaweeds, like kombu and dulse in vegetable dishes and salads. I don't know if it's a good value, price-wise, but it's a very healthy addition to one's diet.

Because they are dried, I didn't have a sense for how big the pieces would get when added to soup. My first time using them, I put in way too much, but it was a pleasant surprise as to how many servings from the small package. When I over poured, and they had absorbed the soup, I took the excess out and it worked well as a seaweed salad. I'd definitely buy again.
