Smart Cook Titanium Cookware Set 4-Piece with Nonstick No Coating 82008, Dishwasher Safe, 8" and 10", Silver

I have been using this cookware for several weeks now, for everything from soups, roasts and pan searing to stir frying. Every dish has turned out just the way I want.That said, the first few times I used the frying pans, they were not as non-stick as I wanted; but they were still better than stainless steel cookware.I did some searching online, and found a recommendation that improved the non-stick performance significantly. Following the instructions, I placed the clean, empty pans on the stove, and heated them on high until the inner surface discolored, turning a brown-blue color. Once the colors appeared, I turned off the heat and allowed the pan to cool. This causes the titanium metal to oxidize, forming a crystallized coating on the surface which is much less 'sticky' than the bare metal. The instructions recommend repeating this any time the pans start sticking again.Since these are pure titanium metal, instead of the ceramic 'titanium' coating in most cookware sets, I expect these will last for a lifetime, just like high-end stainless steel cookware.I'll be giving a set of these to the cooks in my family during the next holiday season.

Excellent quality. The pans are very sturdy and well built. My one complaint is that they are not as non stick as you might be used to with other ceramic coated pans. Well worth it for the titanium coating though which studies have shown is the best pan material to cook with. The cost is also very competitive with other titanium cookware.
