Screwpull Trilogy Table Corkscrew

We have been opening a lot of wine bottles of late and when we visited some friends, the only corkscrew they could find was a cheap plastic one that came in a kit. It was in the same style of this Screwpull corkscrew, worked great, and we then decided to find the best version of this corkscrew. Oh, a red ball that pushes out the cork after opening; this will be great. After ordering it we discovered an old corkscrew in the back of the drawer that was this style, but of course no ball.The corkscrew arrived, I read the instructions, and it does take out the cork, just like the other versions that are this same style. Now as far as pushing out the cork from the corkscrew, I don't see where the red ball does anything. I still have to hold the top of the corkscrew where the cork is to twist it back out. No different than the other brands. I might have to call Screwpull sometime because I must be missing something. I'm just glad I didn't pay for the ultimate metal one.

That's easy, actually. Someone feels it isn't worth 5 stars. But my experience was SO positive that I had to read the non-5 star reviews to see what turned people off.*One 4 star review was over concern that the plastic may not prove sturdy. Anything can fail. If mine does, I'll let you know.*Another 4 star review resulted because the reviewer could not remove the cork easily. I don't under stand this one. I turn the corkscrew the other way and the cork comes right off.*The 3-star review found it no different from a regular corkscrew. I drink only occasionally, so perhaps we have very different ideas of a regular corkscrew. Mine is the standard wing handle (with a screw, not a spiral. I have some standards, after all!) that you can pick up in any housewares department. The Screwpull is so much better than that that there's no comparison.Five stars from this reviewer, no question!--------------------------Back two years later to say that I bought a vertical rabbit for someone with osteo arthritis to be faster and easier to use than the Screwpull and replace it. Surprise! Surprise! She can't use the rabbit (too hard to pull up the handle to pull the cork), but the Screwpull keeps doing its job!

This screwpull is totally manually operated... there is no easy push/pull lever to screw the corkscrew into the cork and remove it all in one swift motion.But then again, it is very reasonably priced. And it's very easy to use.I've had the "easy" kind of Screwpull before, and there is a danger you will bend the corkscrew. With this one, the risk is minimal.We have perhaps 5 or 6 different corkscrews in our house... most of them the familiar "waiter" style of folding tool. This Trilogy unit is the one we use 90% of the time.

A tool that works well, even on synthetic corks. The screw is straight, coated with something like teflon, strong, yet slender. It can go into a bad cork and pull it without breaking the cork up. Easy on the hands, smooth pull. You can remove the pulled cork from it easily, too. Doesn't take much room in a kitchen drawer.Update: A little over 2 years after purchase, it broke. Plastic isn't going to last forever, especially when it has pieces that are supposed to flex, but I expected better. That goes for pricing, too. I bought this for 24.99 here and now see that it costs 40 bucks.

Screwpull Trilogy Table Corkscrew has proven, so far, to be an effective and reliable gadget. While inserting the screw into the cork, it leverages the cork out gently and completely, without requiring great force for the final stretch' as several other devices do. Yet the construction is simple, with few moving parts, which seems to ensure a reasonable duration of usage. The latter aspect, however, has yet to be proven, since the number of bottles opened so far is modest. Several other gadgets, while cheaper, tend to break down after few uses. Hopefully this one has overcome this hassle.

It works fine, I don't understand how it's so much better than a regular corkscrew? We had a rabbit knock-off and loved it for 6 years until it broke. I think I'd rather have a real rabbit--this isn't much different than a regular corkscrew.

I have this for 6 months. It has never failed. It is incredibly easy to open any bottle. The only downside is that the outside is made of plastic. One can expect that it will eventually fail because of this. I wish a sturdier version existed.

Works well with pulling corks, but it feels very cheap and flexible. For its price, I expected more.Go with a cheaper version or a more expensive version. This lands somewhere in limbo.

Tous les bouchons sont sortis jusqu'à présent avec facilité de la bouteille et ressortis tout aussi facilement du tire-bouchons.Seule chose : comme le système perce de part en part le bouchon ,j'ai eu, une ou deux fois, un petit morceau de liège tombé dans la bouteille.Dommage cependant que la boîte en plastique servant de support et abritant le tire-bouchons aient été cassée lors du transport.

Der Srewpull Acive-Ball Korkenzieher entspricht genau meinen Erwartungen. Er ist solide verarbeitet und hat seine Pflicht schon mehfach gut erfüllt!
