Another terrific option for jazzing up my spoiled dachshunds’ dry food!
This very finely milled powder makes a broth my dogs love! It’s SO EASY!I’m always looking for ways to make my dogs dry dog food more interesting. They get César wet food on special occasions or when I’m lazy, but otherwise they are on dry food. Many of my old reviews about dog food are about how picky my late papillon Gigi was, and I spent forever trying to get her to eat. (She’d love one thing, then tire of it, or it would be discontinued, and I’d be searching again.)My current crowd is not quite so picky! In fact, Gillie once required a “Slow Down Bowl” so he wouldn’t scarf it in seemingly one giant vacuuming gulp. He was a stray, and it’s clear he lived a very tough life on the street for quite some time. He also used to grab all the food he could in his mouth, then take it somewhere “safe” to eat it; sometimes that place was up on my bed. (Oh well.)My two dachshunds get a 1/2 cup scoop of dry dog food, and then I have a number of options for jazzing it up. The first I ever tried was Himalayan Dog Chew Powder, a very, very fine powder made from yak’s milk, lime juice, and salt, hardened into rock-solid rectangular chews, then ground into powder. (The chews themselves are awesome, by the way, go read my review of those.) I sprinkle the powder over their kibble and stir it up, coating every bite with a fine dusting. They seem to love the added flavor, licking the bowl for every bit, especially Sophie, my long haired black-and-tan “mini” dachshund who is a mutant and is more the size of a medium corgi, not exaggerating. She’s got a glandular problem or something, too, because the poor girl is obese and we can’t figure out why, despite numerous tests, diet (she was on prescription dog food for the longest time, and it did nothing) and exercise; she gets exactly what the smaller dogs get (my parents have two “classic” wiener dogs like Gillie) but she is almost twice their size! I digress. (I digress a lot.)Next option, and what I’ve been doing longest, is adding to their kibble a tiny bit of a cholesterol free, Heart Healthy blend of canola, soybean, and olive oil, which is full of Omega-3 ALA. I stir until it coats every bite, and they love it. It gives them beautifully soft, shiny coats and got rid of Sophie’s dry skin and dandruff, which made her itch and her fur frizzy; now it’s silky and she looks less insane. Finally, we come to this, FLAVOR, natural flavoring powder. I was concerned the gang might not like it, because they decidedly, unanimously voted NO on the Etta Says brand Liver Flavoring Powder. That had a larger, flakier texture. This is a very very fine powder, finer than the Himalayan powder. I add a bit of water, mix it up, and have a nice (pretty thick looking) tasty broth! Back when it was freezing and snowing (in HOUSTON!) I heated up their broth for a cozy treat. They love the broth, drinking it up first before eating. It just takes a dash of powder to make the broth, and this jar has lasted us a long time, though I don’t use it every meal. The flip-top cap opens the whole lid, so I have to be careful when I add a dash. I don’t bother measuring it out with anything, though the lid is open like that probably so you can use a measuring spoon. As you can see, I love to give them variety. I have been so pleased with this FLAVOR powder that I added it to my Subscribe & Save auto-shipment, at a frequency of every other month. (I might increase that to 3 months.)How do I know how much Gillie likes it, and the oil as well? This guy who used to inhale food like it was the first and last meal he’d ever see, now WAITS PATIENTLY for me to finish doing whatever I’m doing to it. When it’s dinner time, he’s right there with me, while Sophie the princess regally waits to be served. I pour Gill’s food into his bowl, he *sniffs* it, and then STEPS ASIDE until I’ve stirred in the oil or made the broth! He actually goes, oh, hold up, this food isn’t ready yet, I’ll WAIT!

Saw on shark tank
Saw this on the tank and wanted to give it a try since my dog has been pickier with her food lately. 10/10 she loved it. Great product!

She is very picky eater, but this product seemed to make her more interested in food.
My dog is a very picky eater and just sprinkling this on top piqued her interest, so she has taken to eating her food easier.

Great for a fussy, food bored dog!
My 2 year old bernedoodle is a fussy eater who gets bored of everything I try. I've went as far as to get broth bones fresh from the butcher and making a special soup to add to his food (this was a 12 hour endeavor). This is very frustrating and can be expensive. I also am constantly chasing him back to his bowl to eat as my other dog (the one under him in the picture) will always eat his food if he walks away, annoying! He has been loving this powder and a different flavor each meal. He will now stay at his bowl till the food is all gone! I absolutely would say give this a shot!

Never again.
Bought these products in the past. However, this last purchase almost had me thinking it was time to put my little senior dog to sleep. After two days he was staggering, couldn't get his feet under him and was clearly not well. Fortunately, I remembered another reviewing having had the same experience. I immediately stopped giving this to both my dogs and started seeing slight improvement the next day. After about 4 days, he recovered and was back to himself. Had I not seen the previous review, my little guy wouldn't still be with me today. I hope this review helps someone else.

Great product overall !
This would’ve been a 5 star if the lid was not broken. I don’t know if this will be an issue in a future but for now I’m using it the way it came. I was thinking about asking for a replacement but I can’t wait a week for it. The food seasoning is great and my babies are eating again ! They got really picky when I had to change their food to a medicated one and this is helping a lot !

Happy puppy
I have a very spoiled, elderly Morky called Tilou his food is usually mixed with water, heated and he’s spoon fed. He tends to lift his nose and walk away if something is just not right. I bought this to encourage him to eat more and he does! It’s expensive but worth it considering the amount you should use, my dog is so small an /8th of a spoon per meal is enough.

Dog liked it
I can't comment on the taste but my dog seemed to be ok with it. There are cheaper toppers but I used this one as it seemed to be good according to reviews.

Improved dry dog food
Our dog lives this addition to her dry food - we mix it with water and squirt a small amount over each feeding!
