This has become part of my gardening gear. It does help me stay cooler when I put it around my neck when I go forth to do battle with weeds in the Florida summer. Doesn't stay cool for more than 20 minutes or so, at least when it is very hot out. I need to get several more so I can switch them out when they get warm. The opening on this is a little bit large, so it has a tendency to fall off when I bend down.

Summers in New England can be uncomfortable with the high temperatures and we currently rely on a wall AC unit for our small house—no central air! This does exactly what it claims. Having it around my neck on a hot summer’s day can be the difference for me between hot & grumpy and comfortable. As a neurodivergent person, this item can be enough to help me be able to work on chores around the house on hot days without feeling so uncomfortable I become fed up and overwhelmed.For me it has been a godsend. I liked this brand more than another slightly cheaper one I ordered as the seams aren’t noticeable on my neck making it more comfortable. If you’re considering another option to save a couple of bucks, I recommend this brand for quality (and the colors are actually quite attractive).I keep it in a plastic bag in the freezer as other reviews mentioned it could absorb odors and to make sure it stays squeaky clean between wears. I’ve used it a handful of times and zero issues with quality or anything else so far! In my experience/opinion it stays cold and takes a while to thaw out fully (maybe 45 minutes or longer), although that may not be the case in extremely hot conditions.

I have a ton of these from different brands and this is my favorite by far— some fit around the neck a little tighter than this one does. I like that this one sits right where my shoulders and neck meet and not just like a choker up high on my neck. I guess if you have a very thick neck this would be snug, but I’m not a small lady and this is still roomy. As for how long it stays cool will depend on a few things, it’s definitely not going to be “hours” on a broiling hot summer day even if you freeze it— but it’ll stay cool for a good 30-60 mins outdoors doing activities when frozen (which only takes a few mins). I suggest that you buy a few and freeze them. When you have a couple to rotate they are a godsend and they will re-freeze in your ice chest/cooler if you are out and about and have more than one to rotate. I keep these at home, at work, and in a cooler while traveling. I have thyroid disease and these have made me comfortable in my own skin during hot weather again. I’m no longer a sweaty mess all the time.

UPDATE - the seller reached out to me and said that they would give me a full refund. A full refund for the 4 that I purchased would be over $80.00. They only refunded me $30.00. When I brought this to their attention, they said that they would refund the remainder, but that was weeks ago. They have not.What a huge disappointment considering how expensive these were. They were great when they worked, but on our 3rd use, they developed tiny holes and all of the gel leaked out! Crazy. 100% wish we could get a refund on these. Completely did not expect this to happen.I received an email to get a full refund and it stated to reply "FULL REFUND". I tried to reply, but the email account will not accept messages. Please apply FULL REFUND.

This was great and kept me cool for about an hour. Unfortunately, I'm in Texas and I don't think these are made to last one our heat. The good thing was that it cooled when I threw it in the ice chest for an hour but it didn't last too long.

I am wearing this every single morning while temps are in the upper 80‘s / lower 90‘s here in Arizona.It helps to keep one cooler. Yes, I am still hot but it definitely helps make the walk more comfortable.I put the neck ring into the freezer overnight and it it comfortable to wear. If they would sell this as a wide bracelet for the wrists I would buy it too.I just ordered a 2nd neck ring today
