I took on board another reviewers comments on here regarding this light and that there was no earth wire. I have a close friend who is a qualified electrician and I sent him the link to the reviews but he still suggested that I go ahead with the purchase so I did.He put up the light on top of my conservatory and confirmed that there was an earth wire in the light so we didnt have any issues with ours, thankfully. I brought this to replace a cool white flood light I had because the cool white is too harsh on my eyes. Its not as bright as the prior light but I cant complain

It looks good, and seems well made. Note that it doesn't have a junction box to facilitate connection to cables. Note, also, that the holes in the bracket that are there for the fixing screws are rather large; you'll need some washers to put the screws through.The reason I haven't given it five stars is that the mains flex that comes with it is quite short, and there's no simple way to fit a longer one without cutting the wires inside the back cover.

50W unit, received August 2016. One reviewer here said the protective earth was not connected and I have seen similar problems with other LED floodlights. I have taken this unit apart and can confirm that the protective earth is correctly connected to the metal body of the light. It's easy to take apart and perform a quick visual inspection, so I suggest you also check on this important safety feature before installing the light.

I am reluctant to go higher than 3 stars at present as this this is the third LED floodlight I have installed so I chose a different brand this time, and went for IP67. Only time will tell if it is any goodLast 2 (from a different vendor) let water (rain) in so IP seal was rubbish.First one lasted nine months (one winter) , second only3 (half a summer ! ) and last vendor did not even reply to email request for info / refund.TOP TIP - CHECK IP RATING BEFORE BUYING. IF OUTSIDE YOU NEED AT LEAST IP67 IP66 is no good against UK rain

I use this as a workshop light mounted on a board and extension lead. It is bright enough and doesn't get too hot when used for a prolonged period. Construction is so-so when opened up - I took the lens off to clean it up and the edge was a bit rough. It doesn't show nor affect how the light performs though.

Ok the connection wire is short. It will reach a connection box alongside - or you can easily open up the back and connect to the wire internally. The earth is very well connected by a factory made eye connection so its best to just use a choc strip to connect all 3. You will need some big washers to fix up the bracket. For the money you cannot complain - lets see how long it lasts. The light is bright enough to light an area as big as a tennis court.

very bright bigger than expected, should have been supplied with right screws as holes are too wide and its a paint o find right screw or washer.

I purchased two of these and as with other comments about this product, the electric cable is way to short. Internal conections all OK and unit was properly earthed. Extending the cable was no problem. Exremly good light output, very bright. On the down side one unit was defective and the LED only flashed, probably a bad power supply unit. I returned the unit and was refunded. I will probably buy another unit.
