Sioux Chief 654-C Hydra ester Water Hammer Arrester for Piping Systems

Quality product. Large hammer arrestor. I returned mine ONLY because this was 1" MPT and I thought it was 3/4" Would not fit into the Sharkbite fittings I purchased to replace my 30 year old arrestors on 1/2" copper pipe.Another thing I have seen people saying on other reviews is that they use black iron fittings and pipe for water lines. This is not a good idea since they can and will rust, even from the inside out. Black iron is for natural gas or propane. Galvanized fittings and pipe are for water but should not be used with natural gas. Use copper for water whenever possible. There's your plumbing tip for the day....

The water hammer from my sprinklers was so bad it shook the whole house! This thing eliminated it.

My fast closing master control valve was causing a really bad hammering problem. Every time a sprinkler program finished, wham! It was so loud it would wake us up each morning. And now, total silence! I have a big system, 9 zones which 4-6 heads each, so this 1” Type C size was perfect. Had it professionally installed right after the vacuum breaker. The instructions allow for any install position, but my plumber recommended vertically.

On well water with a booster pump, main plumbing by the booster pump always hammered/ kicked back every time the irrigation valves shutoff ( which caused multiple leaks over the years). Finally ordered this product and installed it about a foot before the irrigation valves, installed it under ground and covered it with an insulated sleeve to reduce impact, then tested it and it eliminated the issue completely.Not sure how long it will last outside or in the ground but if I can get few years out of it I’ll be happy.

After many years years our Irrigation system developed a water knock. After some research I bought this water hammer arrester and installed it along with a new check valve. It eliminated the water hammer completely. It’s a good product. Time will tell how long it lasts. The product arrived as scheduled. It was a little pricey, but well worth it when it fixed my problem.

Worked incredibly. After years of my irrigation system banging so loud every time a zone valve closed. Now it doesn't make a sound. Excellent product.

Saved my irrigation valves. This my 3rd time installing these valves. Before, the zone switching would hammer the whole thing, and blew apart the 2 previous incarnations. Now it quietly switches over with this wonderful arrestor installed. Threads right onto the existing 1 inch PVC manifold.

This water hammer arrest-or works very well. It's a bit pricey but worth it because it works so well and should last a lifetime.
