Very recently I locked my bike at the local community college and there was an attempt on stealing some of the of the bikes near the college was physically visible but the thief completely ignored my bike due to this heavy duty lock and didn't touch it, my bike was the best of all around, that goes to show the power intimidation of lock system

This lock really is heavy, but I don't see that as a negative because I don't really feel the weight during my leisurely bike rides -- people who race/ bike for longer distances may feel differently. I haven't used the mount yet, I've just been hanging it on the frame when I bike in case I stop somewhere.I've been using it for about a month in a busy apartment complex in a large city and my bike hasn't been stolen, so that's a plus! I suppose the lock is doing its job well enough.I took off 2 stars because some of the metal parts have begun to rust after storing the bike outside for a month. I bought this lock specifically because I knew I would have to store my bike outside in NC and it claims to prevent rust, but it did not. There's not much I can do to prevent the bike from being exposed to moisture, so I expect I will have to replace the lock after a year's time. On the upside, I do think that the little keyhole covering helps prevent rust of the key entry area. However, this won't matter if the rest of the lock is rusted together and can't be used.TLDR; The lock seems to be effective but if you store your bike outside in a rainy climate the lock WILL rust.

This Heavy Duty U lock is great, very compact and strong. The key mechanism is still perfect. I can put it through loops on my backpack or sling it over my handlebars for short rides. and come with the cable to secure my front wheel or rear rack. Metal components are covered and wont scratch my bike.Definitely recommend this lock and brand.

I bought this lock to lock up my E bike. Nice heavy lock. So far it's working great. One photo is the lock and cable and one photo of my old lock i was using. Which one would u trust with your expense bike. Me i take the big lock. Great lock for the price. May get other one. Heavy duty lock. Comes with 2 keys. Great lock.

Great lock, I love the thicker bolt. My only problem is the locking mechanism does get a little stuck sometimes, usually when it’s cold out but it never takes more than 10-20 seconds to get it unlocked when it’s stuck.Also I would love a version of this lock with a long U bolt.Only have had it for 2 weeks, I’ll update if I have any other problems/ praiseUpdate as of 3/17/20This lock has worked out great for me and I love the 18” thick bolt, my only complaint is with the plastic body, I feel like it might break easily if struck or dropped. Making the body something more durable in the future would be preferred.

I've owned more then one lock of this kind and was pleasantly surprised this time with the quality.Works fine. Heavy duty. Good lock for a good price.

This review is for the u-lock itself. The u-lock works well, but the the screws were falling out of the inside of the lock right after opening the package. I tried tightening them, but they would not tighten... they just kept going around like the inside grooves were stripped. I tried to work past that and use it anyways. I tightened the lock around my bike body, and it was either too loose or too tight with and without using the inside plastic grips. And then the screws would not stay put in that either. And then the u-lock just swung back and forth (because of the inside screws) while riding. I only took 2 rides before I decided to just take that whole thing off and put the u-lock in a small backpack I carry to put my other stuff in. The lock itself works well for security, but all the conveniences are unusable.
