Very stylish without being overly trendy. I wear longer socks so the opening doesn't press against the front of my leg when walking, which I imagine would be uncomfortable over time. Heel is closer to a little over 3 inches, without the almost 1" sole. With all these noted, I like this style so much that I bought 2 pairs, one black and one wine.
