The history of Majorica started in 1890 with an innovative German entrepreneur, Eduardo Hugo Heusch, whose fascinations by pearls inspired him to manufacture man-made pearls. Heusch found the craftsmanship and tradition he was looking for in Manacor, Spain. (Manacor was the home of fine lace makers, which would become valuable for stringing pearls.) Since then, production of Majorica has been established on the island of Mallorca, one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean. This was the start of a tradition and profession, a passion for trends and fashion jewelry, from which the Majorica we know today was to emerge. The company name is pronounced “Mah-jor-ri-ka” and comes from the old Roman spelling for the island now known as Majorca or, in Spanish, Mallorca. (Our name was trademarked in Spain in 1950.) Beautiful look, horribly made
Really like the look of these earrings, however, the first pair I bought from Nordstrom and they lasted a while then one of the pearls popped off the setting and I could no longer wear them. I decided to order a second pair from Amazon, and the same thing happened. It is really disappointing that to get them fixed you would have to pay to send them to Spain. Unfortunately, I will not be purchasing another pair of these.

Beautiful!
These were a gift for my wife. Majorica products are of very high quality, and these didn't disappoint.They are slightly iridescent and are the perfect size for a medium-sized ear.My wife loved them.

Buyer beware
Not totally pleased with the pearls. I have owned several pair of pearls of Majorica over the years. The posts were longer and the backs larger. These pearls I could have bought anywhere I believe for far less. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

Loose backings
Love the earrings but one of the backs was too loose and I lost the earring! Fortunately I was able to retrieve it but I can't wear them again until I can get firm backing that fit the earring post.

Do not buy
These are beads, with gold plated sterling posts. Item description is misleading and refers to the post as gold. These are worth about 2 dollars. Save your money.

Beautiful!!
I have a pair of "real" cultured pearl earrings, too, and these Majorica 8mm stud earrings look and feel just the same. They've lovely!!!

Beautiful pearls!
These are beautiful! I've had Majorica black pearl studs for many years, and have really liked them. I'd intended to buy these for a long time, and finally got around to it.
