The best headphone for lifting
I've had trouble with other bluetooth headphones in that during exercises like GHR or bench press, they'd slip off. The vibrations from deadlifts and barbell rows also had a tendency to shake them off. Add sweat to that, and it becomes very challenging for a headphone to stick to your head. For commuting, I prefer to use IEMs, but I don't like using those at the gym since they would become infused with sweat and would be a chore to put in and take out. I decided to go for regular headphones, closed-back for sound isolation and bluetooth as wires are a pain. After a lot of research, the only headphones that met these requirements, with an emphasis on staying put on the head while lifting, seemed to be Plantronics BackBeat Fit 6100 and JBL UA Sport. The UA was considerably more expensive, and it has a serious flaw in that the ear cushions soak up the sweat. While they are washable, reviewers complained that they weren't able to get rid of the smell of sweat from them. The BackBeat have more conventional ear cushions that aren't as breathable, but they don't soak up the sweat and can be simply wiped clean.I'm glad I chose the BackBeat as it seems like a perfect fit for my usecase. It pretty much never shifts around when the headband strap is tightened, even when drenched in sweat. Most of the pressure is on the top of the head instead of the ears, so it is quite comfortable to wear for long periods, hence I always leave the strap tightened.Other features of the headphone are less important to me, unless something is so bad it's unusable. Luckily it's a good all-rounder. Bluetooth 5.0 support is great, wireless range is decent, and I've never had trouble connecting to it. It's mostly stable, and I only get a sudden disconnect while listening maybe once a month. Battery life is more than enough. It doesn't support LDAC or aptX, so you're stuck with AAC (which is good enough). The microphone is pretty bad, and awareness mode is a gimmick you'll never use (just take the headphone off). The touch controls work well, even with sweat or chalk on your hands, although you'll accidentally activate them now and then when doing exercises like OHP (only a minor annoyance). I find it sounds best with bass-driven electronic music or hiphop, and it's pretty unforgiving of lofi recordings like indie or shoegaze. The sound quality is nothing special, but still very decent for a workout headphone.

Does the job
I bought these after my previous Plantronics BackBeat FIT died after nearly 8 years of loyal service. I was after a pair of gym/running headphones that were water-resistant and could help block out some of the annoying gym music. The previous headphones were no good at this otherwise I would have purchased a similar pair. I tried some Echo buds 2 which were great for blocking out the sound but the fit was questionable and I felt they were always going to fall out. I returned them and bought these. The fit is snug (when using the tightening cord), and secure and hasn't needed correcting in weight sessions or running in the streets. I'm not an audiophile but think they sound good ( for comparison I own a few pairs of headphones including Surface 2 and AirPods pro (not snug enough fit for workouts)). Battery life also does the job by requiring infrequent charging. They don't have active noise cancelation but the fit of the headphones is enough that your music or podcast isn't overpowered by music in the gym. Some people have commented about the maximum volume not being high enough but I haven't found that problem. I have the volume limit on my iPhone to 85db and the volume is plenty for me with room to spare when you turn off the limit.Overall, they are great for what I purchased them for.The only downside is micro USB charging in a world of USB-C cables but it's not a deal breaker.

Really good over ear headphones for the gym
I had lots of trouble with in-ear buds in the gym, constantly getting bother with my ears from sweating and having bits of silicon jammed into my ears. I switched to these to see if they would help and I've been very happy with them. I've owned them now for about 9 months and I wear them 3 to 4 times a week in the gym and it feels like they last for weeks between charges - I'd guess about 20 hours constant use at least. I think they sound really good too - decent bass but also clear, unmuddied sound. The headband can be tightened to help keep them secure and when working out. I mainly use them for running or weights and it works well. Not sure if it would work if you were doing more dynamic movements like HiiT or burpees etc.So good I bought a second pair as a back up because I'd be gutted if these stopped working!

Awful not waterproof in the slightest
Purchased these for running outdoors. Choose them for the water / splash proof rating. 1st light drizzle on a run and they died. Sent them back and got another pair, again exposed to light drizzle and started malfunctioning. Any headphones should surely be able to handle light rain let alone a pair which claims to have some sort of waterproof rating.

Good fit, comfy, always work...
After using earbuds that really didn't hit the mark, these are far more obvious... obviously, bu they work. No cutting out, huge range, long battery life, good sound, almost fully noise cancelling. Compared to my JBL earbuds which I had to return, twice, they've not once given me any issues or reason to complain. Yea, they're not as discreet, but I'd rather something that works over something that doesn't. Great value in that respect.
