Riemex Expandable Garden Hose

What a surprise - over one year in use and still great!
Pretty much every spring I dread just thinking about the unavoidable hassles with garden hose shopping! It's pretty certain that it's at least a yearly job, and for many even more often, because of the poor quality in this market. Can't live with em, and certainly can't live without them! Every gardener needs a reliable garden hose so it kind of makes sense with so many buyers that there be hundred of sellers. BUT RELIABLE Sellers and the garden hoses they sell? Not so much! But every so often we get surprised. I have used this hose for over a year now and it has been RELIABLE! It's as good as when I first got it. No leaking, no ruptures, no shrinking when under full pressure, yet it retracts to very near its original size when water is turned off and hose drained. This hose came through a pretty nasty cold winter after an incredibly hot summer here in the South. Last year I used it every day because it was unusually dry. And now I am I'm into my second year of use and it's just like when first bought.Leaving me a very happy customer. And now I'm in need of a second hose, am using last year's with the sprinkler and this second for hand watering. What is so wonderful, I bypassed the long time-consuming, review-reading and price-comparing shopping by searching in my past orders on Amazon for my previous purchase and used 'order again', and I'm done! This hose has saved me more then just my sanity it saved me a whole lot of time now shopping for a second hose. But I just had to step in here and leave this very positive review for you all.Yes I have used this hose for over a year, and yes, I drain it most days, especially over winter. But it's outside, used almost every day, I would say that I drain it about 50% of the time and water turned off about 75% of time (not 100% because of memory or sore back, or just lazy), about half the hose is laying in full sun 100°F +, it hung drained over the fence for the winter. And this year it already has been in daily use again. So yes, it has been a pleasure owning a reliable garden hose, and easy-peasy buying a second hose.

I'm OK with that!
I've had at least six of these expandable hoses and they were all different brands - although I suspect that they are all (or nearly all) made by one mega-gigantic hose factory. None of the hoses that I've had have lasted more than two years - most barely a year. I'm OK with that! They are cheap enough and far easier to deal with than a heavy, quality rubber hose. My point is - just buy whichever one you like - they are all the same. They will all start to break down and leak - either in some random spot, or at the faucet end. I have successfully repaired two that have started leaking at the faucet end, but had no success repairing leaks in the middle of the hose. Buy a green one! It will look great in your yard! You will smile at it until it starts to leak! And it eventually will!

It shrinks and is easy to use.
Easy and durable

Very expensive and poor material for the cost.
I have used it three times and it leaks around the nozzle attached to the faucet and it has pin holes thru out several places.

So far - so good
Very flexible hose and expands as expected(Brass?) flow control is great & doesn't constrict water to point of causing water to leak or pressure build-upDurability = 3 ⭐ only because I don't know how it's going to stand-up

Maneuver ability.
Perfect for maintaining courtyard plantings.

Lightweight but doesn’t seem durable.
The first hose that was sent was 25 feet. Not 100. It had the 25 ft label crossed out and had 100 written on it. It’s good enough for the price but no substitute for the $100 a$125 expandable hoses. But fits my needs

Small orifice. No pressure .
It is very restrictive

very convenient, quite durable
I used this for the summer and even left it outdoors for the winter. It worked really well for me during the summer. I left it on the floor after use, I made sure the water had emptied the hose. It takes a few seconds for the hose to fill up and extend. Then it works like any rubber hose.I made the mistake of leaving it outside over the winter. I'm not sure if animals go to it or not, but the hose was punctured and I had to throw it away.
