Frustrating Junk
I'm a huge fan of clever puzzle boxes but this is not one. It's solved by trial and error with no discoverable pattern and uses pieces that are too loose to stay where you put them so that its hard to even try different combinations without tape. I'm afraid I can't find anything positive to say. Don't buy it.

Pegs are too loose
The pegs on the sides are too loose to properly align and open. If you set it on a hard surface and move the pegs with a pencil it might be OK but if you hold it and try the more then just the peg you want to move will move. Don't tilt be because they will also move. Was going to give this to my Grandson for his birthday with money inside but I had to try another type of puzzle box.

Extremely easy to solve
You can quickly see from the side which sliders it's getting hung up on so just flip those. I had the puzzle open in probably 20 seconds. This would be good for kids or for adults if it's meant to be quick and easy to open. I like the box, it's nicely made and doesn't feel cheap. I was going with 4 stars because it's so easy to solve but writing this review makes me appreciate it more so I'm giving it 5 :D

Consider the patience level of the recipient
I had watched some puzzle solving videos with my son. He seemed interested the subject. Thought this would be a good birthday gift for turning 11. I put a gift card inside. I said part of his present was figuring out a puzzle. He misunderstood, was over focused on what was inside, and got impatient. I thought it would stall him and his cousin for a bit while waiting on his dad to get home. I was tidying up and left the room only to return to find they’d pried it open with a screwdriver. I was annoyed that this gift lasted maybe 10 minutes intact. The sliding pegs bent/splintered inside. I was able to press them back into shape more or less. It is still usable but not in as nice of condition. I also bought the “canonic chest” but will likely gift to another older family member. I think these would be good for teens/young adults who ask for cash or gift cards to add some interest and fun.

Gift Cards Fit at an Angle
I bought one of these that was supposedly handmade by guy in Florida. Paid him twice as much and got the exact same item as this one.You do have to push all the "pegs" carefully, but it's no different than playing Jenga.Note: It's kind of a box within a box. To make it work right, you have to turn the instructions upside down. Gift card will fit in the inner box, but you have to put them at an angle. Then add little rocks or marbles, so that the recipient can rattle it around while they try to figure out how to open it.

Puzzle box
Got this puzzle box for teen grandchild. I placed an Amazon gift card inside and mailed. Kids had fun trying to open but did eventually have to use instructions (mailed to their mother). This is like a tumbler lock but the tumblers move too much as the box is moved about while opening (reason for less than 5 rating). Otherwise, once you know the "combination" it's a good looking, overall well made box that would be nice for dresser top or nightstand. Just keep steady while opening.

Challenging and fun.
Every year I buy my adult grandson a puzzle box to put his gift money in. I had to start getting puzzles that were more challenging and this fit the bill because I tried opening it with the instructions and if you don't line up the pegs perfectly your not going to get it open so hope it's a bit challenging for him.

Average quality, but priced about right.
The posts that had to be moved in order to line up for the top to be removed were poorly constructed and didn't match up well, so that even if the right posts were pushed out, they didn't stay in place and had to be maneuvered to "line up" properly. The idea is ok, the puzzle sufficiently challenging, but poorly constructed.
